I am consistently a UK size 8 top and UK size 10 bottom. The corset top hugs quite tight so would suit if you are on the smaller side of a UK size 8 or under.

Alterations

Got the dress taken in to suit my size. Got hook and eye sewn in at two locations for train to be hooked up. Underwire was also put in for better form!
